ANU Centre for Advanced Microscopy

The Centre of Advanced Microscopy project is a single storey refurbishment of the existing John Curtin School of Medical Research Workshops (JCSMR) area at the ANU, including a mix of offices, high specification scanning and transmission electron microscope laboratories and a CT scanning and 3D printing suite.

ANU High Performance Computing Facility

Completed Project

The building of approximately 4,000m2 is located on the Acton campus of the Australian National University. It is sited adjacent to significant eucalypts (size and historical importance to the ANU) and near the John Curtin School of Medical Research Building and Sullivans Creek. The project commenced construction in July 2011 and was completed in October 2012.

Majura Parkway is a new, 11.5km dual carriageway, which seamlessly connects the Federal and Monaro Highways in ACT. This is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the ACT and will transform the commute between the north and south side of Canberra.

National Arboretum Visitors Information Centre

Completed Project

The building features a main space with dramatic engineered timber structure; curved, laminated hardwood beams, up to 56m long and varying radii. A curved glass roof interlaces with a zinc roof, forming a central feature to the entry and high activity areas. The building also houses the National Bonsai and Penjing collection. There is a retail area, cafe, restaurant and covered outdoor learning area.

The architectural design is organic and part of a competition winning proposal by Architects Tonkin Zulaikha Greer.

Airport Hotel, Canberra Airport

Completed Project

Situated just 150 metres from the entry to the new terminal, the building is centred around a full height atrium featuring a large ground floor intermingle zone with reception, bar, restaurant and conferencing facilities.

The hotel has a business travel focus and consists of 191 rooms and suites over seven storeys with sweeping views over Lake Burley Griffin to Parliament House, and across the runway to the east.

The Brumbies Headquarters

Split over three levels the building includes a hydrotherapy pool, sleep centre, 50-seat theatrette, fully equipped gym including 60m Australian Standard sprint track, medical and physiotherapy rooms and an environmental chamber for exercising under controlled temperature, humidity and oxygen pressure to simulate altitude.
